Queensbury

Just north of Glens Falls 5 or 6 miles, Queensbury has a lot to offer, including a couple of our favorite ice cream places, Martha's Dandee Cream and Sprinkles. Sprinkles has a wooden train for the kids to play on and offered free jazz concerts on Sunday nights. They also occasionally sponsored visitors from the local petting zoo; however, I find Martha's to be the tastiest, and a little bit more affordable. Martha's is also open on the weekends into the colder season. Marino's Pizza is also one of the best, most affordable pizza places in the area offering pizza by the slice as well as whole pies and other classic Italian dishes. Of course, the huge attraction of Six Flags hardly needs noting. They have traditionally offered a season pass that is well worth the money, paying for itself after just a couple uses. Although the businesses in that area like to claim affiliation with Lake George, don't be fooled. They are on the Queensbury side of the line. The Fun Spot is also a great place to go throughout the year with roller skating/blading, indoor bounce houses, laser tag, and outdoor go-karts and mini golf. A great playground called "Freedom Park" is also up in Queensbury on Glenwood Avenue across from Lowe's, just down the road from Sprinkles.
